One day (Thursday, July, 6) was dedicated to John Plamenatz (1912-1975), a prominent
British political scientist and Oxford professor of Serbian/Montenegrin origin.
AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS:
In order to achieve interactive approach between lecturers and participants the School initiated a project in the course of which the participants of the Summer School wrote reports on specific problems of South-East Europe and guidelines how to approach the problems in the future.
Since the School gathered participants from the ranks of political scientists, experts in international relations, experts in civic education, psychologists, historians and lawyers, the participants were divided into five groups consisting of six persons each.
Each group had its own co-ordinator and five members. The groups covered the following areas:
1. Civil Society in South-Eastern Europe
2. Stability problems in South-Eastern Europe
3. Psychological Consequences of Living in South-Eastern Europe
4. Legal Aspects of the Consolidation of South-Eastern Europe
5. Historical Legacy and the Future
Each group wrote a report consisting of 2,000 up to 3,000 words. All groups were assisted in writing by resource persons.
Participants were also able to attend courses in German (beginner's course), psychological workshops, and a course in dancing.
